ZTE nubia Alpha Features
The ZTE nubia Alpha is a smartwatch with a 4-inch flexible OLED screen, produced in collaboration with Visionox. It has a relatively narrow screen which is tall at the same time, having an aspect ratio of 36:9 (960 x 192px resolution).
The ZTE nubia Alpha is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset with 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage (the storage can hold up to 1,000 songs as claimed by the manufacturer). The nubia Alpha smartwatch runs a custom OS and features motiob gestures. The 500mAh battery it came with can last up to 48hrs, which can be compared to smartphones.
The good news is that the ZTE nubia Alpha also serves as a phone, the eSIM version has voice calling and 4G LTE connectivity. The other version of this foldable smartwatch can connect to your phone over Bluetooth and to the internet over Wi-Fi.
You can also use the 5MP camera of the ZTE nubia Alpha for video calls and taking photos. All you have to do is to rotate your wrist and point the camera the right way. There is plenty of screen real estate to move the viewfinder and keep in view.
Looking at the design, the ZTE nubia Alpha is built out of stainless steel, and the display is coated in heat-resistant polyimide. The Gold version of the smartwatch is coated with 18K gold. Both the gold and non-gold versions are water resistant.
The ZTE nubia Alpha features the usual fitness functions you already expect from a smartwatch. It comes with a heat rate monitor and can also track your sleep.
ZTE nubia Alpha Price and Release Date
The Bluetooth version of the ZTE nubia Alpha will be released in April and the price will go €450 and will be available in Black color only. The eSIM version will cost €550, and the Gold version €650. China Unicorn will get the nubia Alpha first in April, then Europe in the third quarter of 2019, and finally North America in the last quarter of the year.
