Xiaomi keeps of confusing users with their lineup, and they made another addition this week by announcing the Xiaomi Redmi 9 for India. This is different from the global Redmi 9 which is known as Redmi 9 Prime in India. The newly unveiled Redmi 9 for India is very similar to the Redmi 9C which was released earlier this summer, apart from the downgraded main camera.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 for India
The Xiaomi Redmi 9 for India has the same looks, including the squircle (square circle, as the Xiaomi rep, joyfully revealed) island with four holes. One is for the 13MP main shooter, next to it is the 2 MP depth sensor, on the bottom row is the LED flash and the fourth circle is empty, just like the plain buttons on a road car’s dashboard that is lacking certain optional extras.
The selfie camera is covered by a waterdrop notch on the screen, and it is a 5MP sensor with some AI features for portrait shots. Talking about the display, it is a 6.53-inch LCD with HD+ resolution.
The Xiaomi Redmi 9 for India is advertised for its massive memory capacity. It comes with either a 64GB or 128GB built-in storage and 4GB RAM. It is far better than the Redmi 9C which has a single choice of 2/32GB. The remaining internals is the same – Helio G35 chipset, and 5000mAh battery which is charged through a micro USB port.
