The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is the latest addition to the Redmi series as it was officially announced today. It comes with lots of improvements over last year’s Redmi 7A – like a 6.22 inch IPS display, bigger 5000mAh battery and Xiaomi’s new Aurora Wave grip design. Xiaomi Redmi 8A Features
The Xiaomi Redmi 8A display still boasts HD+ resolution but it now
comes with a waterdrop notch, which accommodates the 8MP selfie camera. The
display has a Gorilla Glass 5 protection. At the back, you will find a single
12MP f/1.8 Sony IMX363 camera with dual PD autofocus. The Redmi 8A does not have a fingerprint reader so you will have to
settle for the face unlock.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is powered by a Snapdragon 439 chipset paired with
either a 2GB or 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The internal storage can be expanded
further via the microSD slot. The phone will arrive with MIUI 10 on top of
Android 9 Pie, but an update to the brand new MIUI 11 will arrive on soon.
The 5000mAh battery of
the Redmi 8A can be topped via the
type-C port and supports up to 18W fast charge but you will only get a 10W
adapter in the box. The phone is also splash
proof with a P2i rating and comes with an IR port, 3.5mm headphone jack and
dual SIM support.
Xiaomi Redmi 8A Price and Release Date
The Xiaomi Redmi 8A price for the base 2GB/32GB model is INR6,499
($91), while the 3GB/32GB variant will cost INR6,999 ($96). The release date is
slated for September 30, 2019 via Xiaomi India and Flipkart. The available
colours are; Sunset Red, Midnight Black, and Ocean Blue.
