Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G was officially announced today by the Chinese manufacturer, and it is the company’s first phone with a periscope shooter. The new smartphone comes with 50x zoom, Snapdragon 765G chipset, large battery capacity, an impressive screen, all at a very affordable price which starts from $300/€275.
Mi 10 Youth 5G Features
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G has a lot of similarities with the global Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G – both phones are built around the same 5.7-inch AMOLED panel with the fingerprint scanner placed underneath. The resolution is FHD+, but the panel supports the 180Hz touch sampling rate.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G features an all-new 8MP telephoto camera with a periscope lens that allows up to 5x optical zoom and 50x hybrid zoom. There is also Optical Image Stability, but Xiaomi is withholding details of the aperture.
The other two cameras are a main 48MP camera, and an 8MP ultrawide snapper with 120-degree FoV and f/2.2 lens in front, and a 2MP macro shooter with 2 – 10cm focusing distance. Videos are done in 4K @ 30 fps, but the software will also offer slow-mo videos in 720p at 960 fps. The 16MP front-facing camera is housed in a waterdrop notch.
The Mi 10 Youth 5G is powered by a 4160mAh battery and it comes with 22.5W fast charging support over PD. Xiaomi has not confirmed they are including a matching fast-charging power brick in the retail box.
Xiaomi introduced the MIUI 12 on the stage right before the Mi 10 Youth 5G, but that is yet to be released and the phone will ship with MIUI 11, based on Android 10.
