The upcoming Vivo iQOO Pro 5G has been teased for a while now by the Chinese brand, and it is ahead of the official announcement that is scheduled to take place on August 22, 2019. The phone has already passed TENNA certification, so we have already known all there is it to know about the phone except for the price.
However, 5G smartphones have been significantly more expensive than 4G flagships but perhaps the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G will be the first model to come with a lesser price. According to a new rumour coming from China, the Vivo iQOO will be the cheapest 5G smartphone when it launches.
The Weibo post saying that has been reblogged by iQOO VP Feng Yufei, lending an air of credence to it therefore. Though an exact price has not been mentioned yret, mind you, but this is still an exciting prospect. One of the key hurdles in 5G adoption (aside from having network support) will definitely be the price of 5G smartphones. So the cheaper they get, the easier it will be to convince people to buy them.
And the vivo iQOO Pro 5G, if it will indeed be cheaper than any other 5G phone before it, has the potential to do just that, at least in the company’s home market of China – which is where the rumor in question applies for. If vivo will choose to launch this device in other countries with 5G networks, then it remains to be seen how it will price it there.
The Vivo iQOO is expected to come with a 6.41-inch 1080×2340 AMOLED touchscreen with a waterdrop notch, the Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, a 48 MP + 13 MP + 12 MP triple rear camera setup, a 12 MP selfie snapper, and a 4,410 mAh battery with 44W fast charging. It will run Android 9 Pie underneath vivo’s Funtouch 9.
