The Sharp Aquos R5G was officially announced today for the Japanese market. It os the first 5G snartphone coming from the brand, and it brings an interesting spec sheet, with the key features being the notched 6.5 inch QHD+ screen. The display has a waterdrop cutout for the 16MP selfie camera and a second cutout at the bottom chin for the capacitive fingerprint scanner. The display of the Sharp Aquos R5G is an IPS panel and comes with trendy 120Hz refresh rate and is flanked by stereo speakers.
Moving to the back panel of the Sharp Aquos R5G, you will find a four camera setup made up of a 12MP regular shooter with OIS, 12 MP telephoto module with OIS, a 48MP ultrawide snapper and a ToF module. The phone is also capable of capturing 8K video from ultra-wide module.
Under the hood, it has a Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with a 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 stirage, which can be expanded further via a microSD slot. The Aquos R5G runs on Android 10, while its battery capacity is 3730mAh. The phone is IP68 compliant and weighs in at 189 grams.
At the moment, there are still no details on pricing and international availability concerning the Sharp Aquos R5G. The phone is expected to be available in the Japanese market later this spring.
