The Samsung Galaxy Watch was announced alongside the Galaxy Note9, and it is a new smartwatch in the brand’s lineup of wearables. Though no longer called “Gear”, the Galaxy watch is still a logical continuation of the Gear S3. The Samsung Galaxy Watch comes in 46mm size just like its predecessor, but there is also a smaller 42mm option as well. There are three casing options you can choose from; Rose Gold, Midnight Black, and Silver. The manufacturer will also offer a wide range of bands you can choose from.

Just like the former Gear smartwatches, the Samsung Galaxy Watch’s circular bezel rotates to navigate you through the Tizen interface. The 46mm Samsung Galaxy Watch has an embedded 472mAh battery, while the smaller 42mm option has a built-in 270mAh battery. No matter the one you choose, Samsung claims their batteries will last several days.

The Galaxy Watch have both Bluetooth and LTE models on offer, both featuring GPS for accurate tracking. Both the Bluetooth and LTE models have 4GB of embedded storage but they have different RAM; The LTE model came with 1.5GB of RAM while the Bluetooth model came with 766MB. The Tizen-powered Galaxy Watch will offer more than 60 thousand watch faces.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch has an IP68 water resistant rating with an additional 5ATM pressure rating. It is also drop resistant, complying with the vague MIL-STD-810G standard. It has a 1.3 inch (46mm) or 1.2 inch (42mm) display, with Gorilla Glass DX+ on top.


The Samsung Galaxy Watch is aimed at achieving fitness, and also physical health. The watch has the ability to track 39 different types or workouts (which includes food and water tracking), and it also monitors your sleep and assesses your stress levels. Samsung Galaxy Watch Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Watch price for the 42mm version is $375 and $400 for the 46mm model. The Bluetooth-only model cost just $300 (42mm) and $350 (46mm).

Samsung will start retailing the watch in the United States from August 24, 2018, and it will be available from T-Mobile.


Korea will be the next on the role to get the Samsung Galaxy Watch, and it will start from August 31, 2018. Other markets will get the watch from September 14, 2018.
