Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 6 in July 2019, and today the Korean company has followed it up with a toned-down version known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. This post contains its full specification so as to know what you will aspect, and also the price you will be paying for this tablet if you want to have one.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Key Features
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes in a uni-body design and sports a 10.4 inch 2000 x 1200 pixel LCD. This is 0.1 inches smaller than the regular Galaxy Tab S6 Super AMOLED panel of 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Tab 6 Lite also lacks the in-display fingerprint scanner which is present on the vanilla Tab S6.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. Though Samsung does not make mention of the chipset, it is likely the Exynos 9611 SoC.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has 4GB RAM onboard and comes in two storage options – 64GB and 128GB. The regular Tab 6 on the other hand has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage on its base variant, with the high-end variant having 8GB RAM and 256GB storage onboard. The positive side is that the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a microSD card slot which allows storage expansion up to 1TB.
On the software front, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite runs on Android 10 with one UI 2.0 out-of-the-box and has Dark Mode and Samsung Knox in tow. This also allows you to answer calls and reply to text messages provided you are connected to a Samsung smartphone running Android Pie or higher with at least 3GB RAM.
The Samsung Tab S6 Lite sports an 8MP primary camera at the back and a 5MP selfie shooter on the front.
More interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with an S-Pen stylus and Samsung will also sell a Book Cover separately which clings magnetically to the slate and has a slot for the S-Pen, making it easier for you to carry it around.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has Bluetooth 5.0 and supports Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and comes with AKG-tuned speakers and Dolby Atmos for a better sound experience.
Powering the tablet is a 7040mAh battery which draws power through a USB-C port.
Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will come in three colors – Oxford Gray, Angora Blue, and Chiffon Pink. The tablet is currently listed on Samsung Indonesia’s official site, but there are still no details about its pricing and availability yet. However, the Indonesian site reveals that the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will come with a 4-month YouTube Premium subscription.
