Samsung unveiled its rugged new Tab on 21st October 2017, and this new device is targeted toward business users. It is the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 that was leaked a few days ago, but now the wraps have been taken off it. Just as it is termed “rugged”, it is expected to be extremely durable, by surviving severe pressure, environments, temperatures, vibrations, and drops, all thanks to its MIL-STD-810 certification. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 also has an IP68 rating against water and dust.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 Features
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 features an 8inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, which produces a brilliant display that users will enjoy. It is powered by the Exynos 7870 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM for enhanced performance. The rugged Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 has 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via micro USB. It boasts of an 8MP camera at the rear and a 5MP camera at the front and is powered by a 4,450mAh battery for long-lasting usage.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 runs on the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system, and no one can tell if there is any promise of an Android Oreo update. The rugged Tab also came with the brand’s proprietary S Pen stylus and spots a fingerprint scanner that is located at the front. Apart from using the fingerprint scanner, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 can also be unlocked by the use of facial recognition.
Samsung claimed that the Galaxy Tab Active 2 will be perfect for use in industries and businesses because of various reasons. For example, it is a better option for construction workers working on construction sites, based on its durability. The law enforcement sector can also benefit from this device, because of the many vehicle mounting options that it has.
And please note, just because the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is aimed at business users does not mean it cannot be used as a personal tablet or for entertainment purposes. If you are the type that easily drops his or her devices on the floor, then the rugged Galaxy Tab Active 2 is just the tablet you need.
