The phone is typically an updated version of the Galaxy J7 Prime but it has some miniature design changes like the capacitive buttons. The new Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. It has octa-core CPU on an Exynos 7 chipset and came with a revamped 13MP selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 chipset is most likely the same Exynos 7870 as that of the original Galaxy J7 Prime, because the CPU has the same clock speed which is 1.6GHz. Other specs like RAM, storage and microSD availability remains unchanged as the phone came with a 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 has a 13MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, which offers Visual Search through Samsung Mali. The Galaxy J7 Prime 2 also has Samsung Pay Mini availability in India where the phone will be marketed.
