In the early hours of today, Samsung announced the two new smartphones we have all been waiting for some time now, and it is none other than the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8 Plus (2018). They are he successors of the Galaxy A5 (2017) and A7 (2017), though they look a little bit similar to the S-series than any of their predecessors, and even have some unique features. Let me show you the important information you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) specifications, features, price and released date in January 2018.
Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) Features
On the front of the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018), you will find a Samsung’s first dual selfie camera which consists of a 16MP + 8MP combo. The live focus feature of the Galaxy A8 (2018) camera allows users to choose whether the background is in focus or blurred to a soft bokeh. The phone has the ability to switch between the two cameras for you to get your desired effect.
The primary camera located at the rear, has been upgraded with a brighter f/1.7 aperture for the 16MP sensor. Digital stabilization feature was also added for you to shoot steadier videos, while the Hyperlapse mode will help to condense things for a perfect experience.
Just as we all expected, the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) together with the A8 Plus (2018), came with the Infinity Display Design of the S-series. This is consists of the 18.5:9 aspect ratio and curved glass, but excluding the resolution, as the panels are 1080 pixel. All these features are still enough to make the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8 Plus (2018) the first A-series phones to support Gear VR, however.
The smaller Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) came with an 5.6 inch screen while the larger A8 Plus (2018) stretches to 6 inch. This put the both of them in between the Galaxy S8 screen in terms of size (5.8 inch).
Other features of the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8 Plus (2018) includes Samsung Pay support (with MST), IP68 waterproof rating, and fast charging with USB-C. The battery capacity of the Galaxy A8 (2018) is 3000mAh while that of the plus version is 3500mAh. Both will power your phone for longer hours when used moderately. The downside of these phones is that they will be coming with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box, which is a little bit disappointing for a phone coming up in 2018.
