Top 10 Phones With Best Video Recording Camera Released in The Year 2017

  1. LG V30

The LG V-series was designed to meet the needs of Vloggers, as it is one of the best choice for video capture which offers an extra level of control, particularly in the ,manual video mode (a feature that stands out). With the camera settings, you can choose frame rate, bit rate, ISO, shutter speed, and white balance.

A feature you will find with the LG V30 camera, “Cine mode”, allows you to apply one of fifteen pre-set colour effects to achieve a particular look. You can as well record with a flat profile, which you can later upgrade to your taste. The video camera feature also include a point zoom, which allows you to zoom into action happening in a particular are of the frame and not just the center. These features places it amongst the phones with best video recording camera for the year 2017.

  1. Sony Xperia XZ1

The Sony Xperia XZ1 came with an entirely different package, a super slow motion video capture. The 960fps recording in only available in 720p resolution, and with just a blink, you will miss its 0,18 seconds. With proper timing, you will get a spectacular slow motions, which gives you a unique glimpse into how a balloon pops, or a dog shakes water off, and many other useful views like that. It is one of the best phones for video capture that is released in 2017.

  1. Apple iPhone X

Since we have already entered into high frame rates, we should give the iPhones the praise they deserve. The Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus are the only phones that can capture 2160p footage at 60 fps, without any significant reduction in quality.  To add to that, Apple’s latest can also record 1080p videos at 240fps. Other phones can match either the resolution or the frame rate, but definitely not both of them.

Another outstanding feature about the Apple iPhone cameras is that, it’s plain 1080p footage is among the best you can find, both at 30fps and 60fps, while many of the phones found on this list are perfect at 4K and just okay at FullHD. The electronic image stabilization coupled with stabilized optics on both the wide and the tele cameras of the iPhone X are some other qualities that makes it to be one of the phones with best video recording camera in 2017.

  1. Google Pixel 2 XL / Pixel 2

The phone that you all have been waiting for in this list. Yes! it is none other than the Google Pixel 2. The Pixel 2s also record mono audio like the iPhones and its “Fused video stabilization” works wonders too. It cannot just be ignored from the top 10 list of phones with best video recording camera this 2017.

  1. Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Another smartphone that is complete in almost all angles, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 can record excellent videos. Its camera covers all important features too, such as 4K video with stabilization (OIS and EIS), H 264/H 265 codec selection. Though it cannot be compared to the iPhones when it comes to high fps at high resolution, no other phones on this list can as well.

  1. HTC U11 Plus

Another breed of smartphone that do not particularly stand out with specs, but yet captures nice videos. The HTC U11 Plus only records in H 364, does not stabilize 4K footage, and its audio gets a lowly 96kbs but rate. Apart from this downsides, the HTC U11 camera does support high resolution audio and has a rather unique acoustic focus capability. It is one good phone to record vides with, and it was released in the year 2017.

  1. Huawei Mate 10 Pro

Huawei might have competed with Apply this time around by including some camera features in their Mate 10s. 4K videos are encoded with the H 265 codec, while 1080p uses H 264. As a result of that, the 1080p footage is rather okay, but the 2160p is pretty awesome. The bad news is that there is not electronic stabilization in 4K though. All things being equal, it is one of the phones with best video recording camera in 2017.

  1. Xiaomi Mi A1

This is like an unexpected entry to this top 10 list of phones with best video recording camera, and it is one that shows how far modern smartphones have gotten to be. The Xiaomi Mi A1 costs a little over €200 and it records 4K videos too, not just 4K videos, but pretty amazing ones too. This is awesome.

  1. Motorola Moto Z2 Force

The Motorola Moto Z2 Force is the brand’s de facto flagship, and to the amazement of users, it records high quality 4K videos too. Its focus can be a little bit jumpy and stabilization in 2160p, this is not really the smoothest of choice though. Apart from this, the detail and colours are great, so also the noise performance.

  1. OnePlus 5T

All things being equal, the OnePlus 5T camera can record some pretty good looking 4K videos too, and it is very competent and stabilizing them electronically. The OnePlus 5T is among the list of top 10 phones with best video recording camera when it comes to 1080p/60fps capture.

With this post and my previous ones, I have covered the top 10 players in the three major aspects of smartphones imaging from the way users sees it, talking about the rear camera skills, selfie or front-facing camera, and video cameras. I am glad you have enjoyed all my reviews in that aspect. This will be my last post of the year on this blog, we will meet again on the other side, which is the year 2018.

For now, all I can say is Happy New Year!
