Garmin is in on a race to catch up with the Forerunner 645 Music watch (which cost $450), by manufacturing their own Vivoactive 3 Music watch. The “Music” found in the name of both watches is as a result of their built-in storage for 500 songs which users can play on a run, with no phone needed. To enjoy the songs on the go, you need to pair some sweat-proof headphones and head out.

The Vivoactive 3 Music Watch is rated for swimming (5 ATM) and has a heart rate sensor plus VO2 max tracking. Other sensors you will find in the watch include; an altimeter, thermometer, compass, gyro, and accelerometer.
The Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music Watch does not run on Android Wear, but instead, it uses a proprietary Garmin platform. You can check notifications from your phone and control the company’s VIRB action cameras.
